Reading this book is the best thing we could ever have done for our daughter. Our daughter was about to turn 1 and was not crawling yet (she has Down Syndrome and a history of Infantile Spasms) and a Mom in our area gave us a crawling track that her Husband made after reading this book. Our daughter started crawling on her own 3 days later. She was ready to start but needed the gravity to help her succeed. We went nuts with IAHP after that. All of the info is on their website iahp.org and I wanted to leave to Philadelphia right away and take the course. They told me about the book and reading it was a requirement for the course so we got the book, read it (mind blown), and booked our tickets and started the home program. That was one year ago and our daughter (that has Trisomy 21 and a history of seizures that are known to cause Autism in some) who just turned 2 is reading at a 6yr old level, and her level of understanding is absolutely increadible. Our daughter who at 6 months lost the ability to sit up for 4 months due to having Infantile Spasms is now on the verge of running, she is climbing like crazy, and is rolling all over the place with the beginning of her gymnastics program. Her eye contact came back, nystagmus and strabismus are gone. After 2 months on their program (with diet change) her 2nd sleep study went from 80 incidents of sleep apnea to not having sleep apnea anymore. I could go on and on and it has only been 1yr. My Husband and I do work from home and do this with her all day long, we dedicate out whole lives to helping her succeed, but there are many that have just as much success from only reading the books.I strongly recommend reading another book in their series as well- How To Multiply Your Babies Intelligence. That one goes over many of the other programs in great detail so you can do them at home. You can always call or email the staff from iahp.org and they can answer questions for you (you have to have read this book 1st though, makes sense so they aren't answering the same questions over and over).To those that complain about the biography stuff, don't let that stop you from the knowledge in this series. I skip through and go back and forth, you don't have to read straight through.To those that complain about time, even doing a little of the program is better than none... it can't hurt to try.Best wishes to all of you seeking help. I ignored the negative reviews that were saying that this book tells you NOTHING about what you can really do and... I did wrong! This is not a manual, you will not find any clear instructions here, this book tells you a story of the Institute and the results they get. But basically you will not get anything else than hope that your brain-injured child can get better. I don’t know if other books of Glenn Doman are equally useless, but this one certainly is.
